This piece depicts these drugs as something that is almost beautiful. The plants show livelihood and growth, but taking a deeper look into the pill bottles and plants themselves one starts to realize the message behind these beautiful illustrations.
Before you ask- yes. I did think of this. No- I have no idea how. Yes, it is on a shirt. Yes I wear it in public and yes it is amazing.
Besides the point- I came up with this when I was 19 and put it in our class t-shirt contest. I did not win- so two years later I decided to give the design a glow up and screenprint it using discharge ink and then a layer of regular ink on a black tshirt.
Now, with my own shirts and a better design I laugh whenever I see this shirt around, and it is one of my most complimented shirts to date.
This piece is a rendering of the childrens book "Nerdy Birdy Tweets" written by Aaron Reynolds and illustrated by Matt Davies. This rendering was completed with dip pen and watercolor.
This video was created within the first month of the pandemic when things were confusing, scary, and unknown. This video is a visual representation of the terror that was spreading across the world and the mental toll that was taking on people worldwide.
