THE WOMAN

THE WOMAN

My creative practice is deeply aligned with the notion that art can be life-changing. Every brush stroke, every node, every line, every letter is an opportunity to connect. I was born just outside of Denver, Colorado. I hope to travel the world one day.

I completed by BFA on the Western Slope of CO. People, The Outdoors, and experiences has taught me a lot about the magic of the world. Growing up I gravitated towards spending my time outside and capturing moments through a camera lens and words. I never thought that I could create a career through my passion of creation- but the moment I decided to pursue graphic design, my world changed.

Through school and my jobs I became obsessed with creation. The passion of words and a camera never faded, but instead expanded into a passion of design, typography, illustration, layout, printmaking, and everything in between.

I spend my free time in the outdoors, focusing on new experiences and meeting new people. I hope to incorporate travel into my life in the long run and continue to gain experiences. Until then I will continue to be a Weekend Warrior who spends her weekends adventuring during the day and designing when I get home.

I am a coffee gal.

I am the oldest of 6 siblings and those kiddos mean the world to me. I created this monogram combining their initials in my original typeface & of course got it tattooed on my body.

One of my many passions has been found in murals. This one in particular was done in my saint of a Mother's garage with her patience as I obsessed over perfecting this 32 square foot type mural.

This project expanded over 9 months. As a team of three we presented several art options. After mine got chosen to continue, it was flushed out and perfected. Over the upcoming months we practiced techniques as a team and as soon as the weather was warm we got to putting paint up on the wall. After several weekends of working we had a beautiful final piece for the public to see daily in downtown Grand Junction.

I design, and I love it. I print, and I love it. I illustrate, and I love it. I spend countless hours obsessing over typography, spacing, layout, and everything in between. And I love every moment of it. "Good design is invisible." So here is a glimpse into the invisible, the in between.

I climb mountains. Oh, and I explore deserts. And valleys. And canyons. And climb walls. And swim in oceans, and float rivers. I love the sun on my skin and dirt in between my toes.

One of my biggest goals in life is to get to experience the world and its people and views while designing. As someone who is willing to relocate for my career- I have an open mind and full intention to take advantage of all my future city, town, and location has to offer. I hope to get to chase the adventure of life while designing for the rest of my life.

Fun Fact: I jumped out of a plane once.

A friend, Mikayla Olave made a documentary about my screen printing process. Enjoy.
